At a time whenhipster dance rock and digital darlings rule the independent musicworld it may be surprising that a pop-punk act can be lauded assuccessful, or even hip. But, perhaps The Futureheads excelbecause they revel in a genre which has become so riddled with tritebanalities. Or, maybe it’s their unique vocal harmonies orless-than-conventional song structures that make them so appealing. Whatever the reasons may be, this British quartet manage to display avibrant post-punk sound without devolving into conventionality, like somany bands of their ilk.
