The film is based on real events. In the 1976 session of exorcism of a young girl over her death. The priest-exorcist, held a ceremony has been charged with murder, although the process was formally initiated by the Catholic Church. In search of justice, the priest examines the history of the appearance of demon on the earth, killed the girl, and tries to prove in court the existence of supernatural forces and their ability to interfere in people's lives. "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" shows possession and exorcism, without tricks and inspirational horrors, there will be no unexpected "boo" and blast the soundtrack, this film shows these things as they are, at least as what may be in reality and such way it’s really scary. It is interesting and looks very original presentation of this topic - with memories of hearing, during which the priest is accused of manslaughter. This makes the film rather original before any other movie on this topic.

SINOPSIS

Emily Rose (Jennifer Carpenter) deja el prote-gido ambiente de su hogar rural para ir a la universidad sin la menor sospecha de lo que le espera. Una noche, sola en su dormitorio, su-fre la primera "alucinación" y pérdida de cono-cimiento aterradoras. Puesto que los ataques son cada vez más frecuentes e intensos, Emily, católica devota, decide someterse a un exorcismo dirigido por el cura de su parroquia, el padre Richard Moore (Tom Wilkinson). Al morir la joven durante el aterrador exor-cismo, acusan al sacerdote de homicidio negligente. Erin Bruner (Laura Linney), una sobresaliente abogada defensora, acepta de mala gana representar al Padre Moore a cambio de la seguridad de un contrato de sociedad con su bufete de abogados. A medida que el juicio avanza, el cinismo y ateísmo de Erin se tambalean debido a la fe inquebrantable del Padre Moore y a los hechos, espeluznan-tes e inexplicables, que rodean el caso.
