Final Fantasy XIII

    Well, I did not get involved into the Final Fantasy XIII. When it all started it seemed like something poorly-created, some techno-fantasy mixture, I was rather tired of it in the previous Final Fantasies (before XII). But now I admit that I have nothing to do than get interested with the game. And it’s not about the Fantasy XIII character – a seductive woman with tattoos and a slight Australian accent.

    Oerba Yun Fang appeared in Final Fantasy XIII trailer coming from Tokyo Game Show. Before people didn’t know her true role in the screen. Everything known was that she was a l'Cie, besides, more real than other l'Cie divine creatures. And she works for the government which acts against them. This month it was announced in the magazine that she calls a strange new variant of Final Fantasy main dragon Bahamut. And while some people keep on wondering about her real motivation, she is a rightful part of the group. She made the cast consist of six heroes, that’s the smallest number in Final Fantasy. The debut was held in Japan two months ago. And on the whole, she is presented in Final Fantasy XII easily soda beverage and statuettes for private collections.

    The “Oerba” name of Yun Fang gives a hint that she has some tribal origin as the party member, told about earlier, but much younger Oerba Dia Vanille. The devoted fans also supposed some alikeness with Balsa from Moribito – the Spirit Guard., who was taken home by other heroines who took the voice of Mabuki Andou, a famous actress. Sure, Yun Fang possesses a New Zealand accent in a dubbed variant of the ad. And if Square to substitute her voice for some artificial American one for the final game version, I won't play it for several hours as a protest.

    But I see warriors who wear smiles on helmets. So the show must go on…
