If your video looks slightly "washed-out" (whites aren't true white, blacks aren't true black), play in Media Player Classic Homecinema, go to View > Options... > Playback > Output, and choose Overlay Mixer. Or (this should work with any player besides ones with inbuilt codecs, like VLC and MPlayer) if you're using ffdshow-tryouts or any of the codec packs that install it (like the CCCP, K-Lite is crap), then you can go into the ffdshow video decoder settings, click on Output on the left-hand pane, and uncheck EVERYTHING on that page except for RGB32, and High quality YV12 to RGB conversion. Then, click RGB conversion on the left-hand pane, choose ITU-R BT.601, and change Contrast to Full range.
